In today’s data-centric organizations, executives need to possess knowledge and skills in data technologies to make informed decisions. The Master in Analytics and Visualisation (MAVI) programme meets this critical need by offering comprehensive training for working professionals and aspiring data analysts, business analysts, and managers in various data-driven roles. The programme covers essential areas such as data visualisation, data management, automation, and decision analytics to equip students with the competencies needed to succeed in today's data-rich business landscape.
In the MAVI programme, you will learn to use a range of cutting-edge computational tools for analytics, including R, Python, MySQL, and SPSS. You will also gain expertise in open-source automation tools such as UiPath and enterprise-grade platforms for workflow automation. You will develop the flexibility to use diverse tools to complete tasks within an analytics workflow, from visualisation and wrangling to machine learning. Additionally, you will learn to leverage robotic process automation (RPA) and enterprise workflow automation tools to streamline analytical tasks, such as data cleaning, data integration, and reporting.
To accommodate busy professionals, the MAVI programme offers a hybrid learning mode, allowing you to attend face-to-face courses on-site or remotely via synchronous online classes. The programme also provides a range of learning activities, including taught courses, an applied project, and an elective internship. Through the applied project, you will receive guidance from industry practitioners and academics in project mentoring sessions, attend seminars in machine learning and computing, and participate in activities to prepare you for a data-related role. Through the internship, you will have the opportunity to gain relevant experience and apply your newly acquired knowledge in an industrial setting.
The MAVI programme is dedicated to developing the skills necessary to be competent practitioners in data analytics, visualisation, and automation. You will gain insights into how to translate and address business problems using data analytical methods, preparing you for a successful career in data-driven organisations.
Accelerated and Regular Tracks
The MAVI programme offers both accelerated and regular tracks. Students on the accelerated track will complete the programme in 1 to 1.5 years. Students on the regular track will complete the programme in 1.5 to 4 years. Please see Admissions Requirements for details.

Career Prospects
Graduates of the programme will be well-positioned for careers in data-driven industries and organizations, including roles such as data analysts, business intelligence analysts, analytics and automation solutions architects, and in other roles requiring proficiency in data management and data analysis. The skills gained from the programme are applicable in diverse industries, including marketing, healthcare, finance, retail, and consulting.
Programme Structure
Students enrolled in the Master in Analytics and Visualisation are required to successfully complete 60 credit units (cu) of coursework and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0 to fulfil the requirements of this postgraduate degree. The MAVI offers both accelerated and regular tracks.
Regular Track
Students on the regular MAVI track are expected to take 15cu to 20cu per semester to complete the programme in 1.5 – 2 years, with a maximum candidature period of four (4) years.
Accelerated Track
Students on the accelerated track are expected to take 60cu over two semesters to complete the programme within one year. A 6-month extension may be granted on a case-by-case basis, with a maximum candidature period extended to one and a half (1.5) years.
International students
- International students residing overseas who wish to attend the programme physically in Singapore must enroll in the one- (1) year accelerated track. This option requires students to obtain a valid student visa to physically attend the programme.
- International students residing overseas who wish to attend the entire programme remotely (i.e. outside of Singapore) may enroll in the one- (1) year accelerated track or two- (2) year regular track. It is important to note that a switch to in-person attendance is not an option for international students who choose to complete the entire programme remotely at enrolment.
Singapore citizens, permanent residents and residents of Singapore (e.g. Employment Pass holders)
- Singapore citizens, permanent residents and legal residents of Singapore may enroll in either the 1-year accelerated track or the 2-year regular programme track.
Study Progression Outline
To graduate with the Master of Analytics and Visualisation, students are required to complete 60cu of courses and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of 3.0.
The MAVI programme may be completed with or without internship. A summary of the two pathways is described in table below:
Stackability
The Graduate Certificate in Analytics and Visualisation (GCAV) and the Graduate Diploma in Analytics and Visualisation (GDAV) are stackable towards the MAVI. Progression towards the MAVI from the GCAV is shown in Figure 1 below.
