Synopsis
The ‘information explosion’ era has made information and knowledge building more accessible and rapid than ever before in human history. However, there is growing concern about how mis/disinformation can impact our mental well-being, as discerning between various sources becomes increasingly challenging. Issues of concern range from growing anxiety and fear stemming from alarming news, to making harmful life choices, and to vilifying segments of our population.
This symposium explores some issues we should be aware of in light of such growing concerns over mis/disinformation, and how we can continue to maintain good mental well-being in the face of more complex and persuasive forms of mis/disinformation.
