Synopsis
This workshop aims to improve the assessment literacy of participants, so that they can apply quality principles in designing fit-for-purpose assessments. This has important implications for both instructors and course developers as they seek to align curriculum, pedagogy and assessment practices.
This workshop comprises two parts:
- Part 1 is a self-access course that introduces key concepts in assessment design. The learning activities in the course can be completed at each participant's pace in his/her own time.
- Part 2 is a group session for participants to apply concepts of assessment design in group activities and engage in discussions of quality assessment practices with fellow participants and the facilitator.
Note. Participants must complete the self-access course before attending the group session.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the workshop, participants should be able to examine and work with quality principles in:
- Planning Assessment
- Designing Assessment
- Interpreting Assessment Outcomes
Note
- Participants must complete the self-access Canvas course before attending the group session.
