Centre for Applied Research
The Centre for Applied Research (CFAR) is the knowledge hub and incubation centre for research projects, initiatives and activities at the Singapore University of Social Sciences. It administers and facilitates research and related activities, maintains a repository of the knowledge output of all faculty, staff and students, and publishes research ideas and findings in its working paper series.
CFAR also undertakes high quality research work in collaboration with industry partners and public organisations on issues of direct relevance to the business community and the society at large. This is in line with its aim to contribute to the society in a tangible manner. CFAR also actively promotes and undertakes case writing for the purpose of deployment in the University's graduate and undergraduate programmes to ensure that as a tertiary institution we continue to offer holistic academic programmes with a good balance between academics and practice.

Research@SUSS
CFAR works closely with all faculty to foster and promote research at SUSS. It maintains the University’s e-repository system that consists of research publications and projects, case studies, seminars and conference presentations, and other research-related documents are available in the University's e-repository system. CFAR also publishes the SUSS Working Paper Series (SUSS WPS).

SUSS, in collaboration with Great Eastern, conducted a study to uncover the changing pattern of behaviour and perceptions of Singaporean youths due to the influence of social media and technology.

BT-SUSS Business Climate Survey
The Business Times of Singapore launched a quarterly business activity survey in January 1996 to track turning points in Singapore business cycles and to capture the performance of Singapore firms in terms of sales, profits and orders in the past quarter, and the firms' perceptions on business prospects for the next six months.

SUSS Survey on Youths
SUSS, in collaboration with The Straits Times, conducted a study to examine the characteristics of 19-year-olds - the last cohort of the Millennials - and to better understand their mindsets and worldviews. Through focus group discussions, they also shared their thoughts on various issues in Singapore.

The Centre for Applied Research at SUSS, in collaboration with the Union of Security Employees (USE) conducted a study that tracks changes in wages, work prospects and welfare of security officers in Singapore.
